Question:

Ive just found out im 6 weeks pregnant with baby 2. It has come as a complete surprise as baby 1 is only 14 months old. I really have mixed feelings and need

to know its normal i suppose.. Im scared that im not going to cope with 2 kids, im afraid ill get really fat and wont be thin ever again, im terrified the birth will be as bad as the first time  and im just not as excited as the first time I feel like all my plans have been ruined..

I dont want to sound selfish and i hope to be a good mum I just wonder if I will ever feel happy about this situation..

thanks in advance for any advice

My Advice:
Congratulations.  My youngest son was born 6 weeks early so there was only 14.5 months between them & at times it felt just like having twins.  Of course its natural to feel & think "How on earth can I cope with 2" but you do.  Each babe & delivery are different.  My 1st. born was so perfect, going through the night at 6 days - her being perfect made it harder having the next 3 & all had different births.  My last one I was only 10 minutes in the 2nd. stage.  Mind you he was only 1700gms & was perfectly normal.

Did you go to birthing classes last time?  If you can do your breathing exercises, that will help a lot. Have you any family/partner around you to help & support you? Please try & stop worrying I know it's easier said than done but you need to feel a little more confident in yourself.  Don't worry about getting fat!  You'll soon get rid of it pushing the buggy around.  Just make sure you have balanced meals during the day & not takeaways with chips.  Drink lots of water, fruit, milk & vegies every day.

Be positive, all Mums are different so please don't put yourself down.

You are Great & keep telling yourself that.

Keep intouch & if you want more support or some one to talk to, please contact me.

Luv,

Krys xxx
