White and Clear Discharge, Pregnant!

Re: Pregnancy probs?
anonymous

Question:

This is a little bit graphic, sorry.

I am 3 and a half months pregnant, and since just before i fell pregnant i have been loosing snot coloured mucus. I had a pap smear just before i

got pregnant, which showed a slight infection, but the doctors, did not want to do anything, they said it would clear on its own.

It got quite bad at the begining of my pregnancy, then it died off completely, until about a month ago, i lost a big glop of it (perhaps a teaspoon) which was like a show, except snot coloured. Then nothing.

Yesterday i lost yet another teaspoon of the stuff, (i dont know if its relavant but i had sex the night before)  and i'm not sure what is is or what i should do. I will mention this to my midwife who is currently on holiday,  but do you think its urgent? or can it wait? Im not concerned really, just enough to ask a really embarrassing question and to be so graphic.

Also, i'm not sure if its relavent also, but the last two days im having pulling/pinching sensations in my lower belly, which are painful. I never experienced these with my last babies, (not that i remember anyway) also had these from about 5 weeks- about 8 weeks then they stopped too.

Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

My Advice:

Hi,

I had this as well.  I was concerned and looked it up on the internet.  Everything I found said that it was normal.  The sign you do want to watch is if it has a smell.  The smell is a sign of an infection.

I talked to my midwife and after doing a little research choose to use garlic to clear it up.  I took some garlic oil that I made, about a Tablespoon 3x a day.

I also rubbed this around my abdomen and inner thighs.  The mucus cleared up in about 3 days.

Also, having sex may be relevant.  Some of the stuff coming out may be his.  If you used protection then it may be that the small contractions caused by sexual activity released a bit extra mucus.

I would talk to your midwife and if you still feel like you need to, you doctor as well.

I hope this is helpful.

They never talk about the gross parts of having sex, do they? I guess what goes up must come down! LOL! Sorry if that offends anyone.
