Greeting to All Minti-parents!
I am Mom-O-Four! In, four girls, now ages 35 yo, 24 yo, 20 yo & the last at home 14yo. Thirty-five years of parenting for better or worse. I can humbly say all my daughters love me and our relationship is good. That
wasn't alway the case.
My last divorce was incredibly brutal. My youngest child suffered extreme abuse and from the age of 3 1/2 she began acting out. I was in and out of court until she was 8 years old. She is finally protected with a TRO, but the damage was done. The last 11 years I have spent searching for answers that my sweet, intelligent, happy daughter could blossom and grow past the trauma.
Her fourth grade year was a realization that if I didn't make a serious decision, I would loose her. I placed her in a Residential Treatment Facility in Utah. While she was there, I discovered abuse and immediately brought her home. Her scolastics had improved, but she had been exposed to information that was inappropriate for her age. I finally discovered at program that not only provided me with tools and skill, but gave my daughter new methods for expressing her resistance to authority.
This is a very brief description of how I got here. Over time I will provide other resources. This was the best that I found and that I use everyday. My CDs are kept in the car where I can listen daily.
