i cant get my kids 2 like bed ,i have tryied everything any 1 could ever think of &yet they give me hell when its bed time .i have seen docters about it they all couldnt

helpme with anything.so wat do i need to do

My Advice:

Hi,

I agree with a schedule/routine.  Make bed time a list of things to do before they go to bed.  You pick the routine and they pick the order, with your guidence.  Add to the list drinking Chamomile tea and a bathroom break.  With younger ones you can have a bed time story, read a chapter of Proverbs.  One friend said that their mom would read a story with excitement and they would still be awake but there dad would read the begettings and they were fast to sleep.

We started with a great routine about a month ago.  If he does everything on the list then he gets a check mark and after being successful 4 times he gets to go to the park.  Here is our list.

Pick up all your belongins from around the house

Clean your room

Drink Tea

Feed your dog

Brush Teeth

Go to the bathroom ( this is flexible if he just went)

Read the Peaceful Solution (a character building set of books with great narritives)

Go to Sleep

We don't really worry about him falling to sleep right away.  He gets tired at different times of the night, but as long as he does his list and stays in bed he gets the check mark.  We wrote these on paper and cut it out then glued it on construction paper with some pictures.  Make it fun and rewarding.  Also, don't make it a big deal if they miss a step.  Remind them gently once and then if they don't do it, they don't get the mark.  "To bad you did not get the mark last night because you did not pick up your toys.  You'll do better tonight."

I hope this is helpful.

Re: Schedule and Chamomile Tea

This is a good schedual, I'm woundering how old your son is? My daughter is 2.5, and I have no problems with her going to bed, but I definately need some incentive to get her to pick up her toys before bed. Those damn little petshop toys are everywhere, and man do they hurt when I step on them! lol
