my home management binder

happysmile by happysmile Standing(January 2009) (rank 500+)

Hello to all, i want to share alittle advice about how i manage my life and put it all in a binder! Ok its called a home management binder, what i include in it is-

Tab1: Daily rountines and reminders (my daily plan for that day which i write

up the night before, which has im appointments for that day, calls i need to make, whats for dinner and some other reminders. Then i have my morning routine, mid-morning routine, afternoon rountine and my evening rountine and also a rountine for my son to). Then i have a chore chart for my son and when he completes it we put stickers on it and he gets a treat at the end of the week when it is complete.

Tab 2: Is my basic weekly plan- I have mon to sun on separate pages and i have monday as my cleaning day then i write what cleaning i will be doing on that day, tues my family day, we choose something special to do as a family, wednesday is planning day, i write out my shopping lists and meal plans for the week and also organize what biils need to be paid. Then thrus is my errand day when i go shopping and pay bills. i have other things on the other days to, this keeps my week organised having a day for each thing but i do change it alot to suit my family for the week.

Tab 3: is cleaning- I have a copy of a master house cleaning list,

Tab 4: is my zone cleaning- i have 5 zones and i consontrate on one zone a week,  e.g. zone 2- is the kitchen. These zones are for deep cleaning, stuff i don't usually get to do like tide cubbords stuff like that.

Tab 5: Is for menus and grocery lists- I have a master grocery list and 5 weeks worth of menus and shopping lists, makes meal time easy. Also i keep all the recipies i want to try in this spot to (i almost have to make a binder just for recipies!!).

Tab 6: Is personal (my stuff)- Like my goals and what i want to achive.

Tab 7: Special projects- Like declutting shed or making something ect.

Tab 8: Is for my son- Articles i find interesting about parenting and special things we can do like craft projects. Basicly anything to do with him i put here.

Tab 9: Miscellaneous- i keep what ever dose not have a place in the binder here.

Tab 10: calenders- I keep an appointment calender, birthday calender too.

Tab 11: Financial- anything to do with money goes here, including my budget.

Tab 12: Christmas: Gift ideas ect.

Tab 13: Emergency numbers.

Tab 14- Adressbook.

It took me along time to finsh this but it was like a hobby for me, i scrapbook to and my binder is kinda like a scrapbook.

This is great!!! I would really like to start it for myself.  Here's hoping I can when the boys go back to school.

Great article, well done.

Tanya.

Great article again. Very well organised. I do something similar to this. If there's things i have to do the next day, like alot of stuff, i write it down like a list and cross of everything that i've done in the day, and once i've finished everything, i can relax.
