Time Capsule

wildrose by wildrose Young Parent(August 2006) (rank 19th)
Have you ever kept something that so special and one day you find it and remember the story of it? or have you ever asking the story behind stuff that your parent have kept away for long time? or have you ever share the stories with your children about your old
stuff or even you children early age stuff? I am sure you have.

I remember when I used to check on my mom's wardrobe, she kept some of her clothings and other sentimental things (ie. jewelleries, purse)  from younger age. We used to spend lot of time telling and listening stories behind them. We had a great laughter and moment when we done that. Even some of them were captured in photographs. It's like a time capsule. My mom also let me kept some of her momentos which I still keep till this day, and I will share those one day to my daughter.

I might have lost some of my historic/sentimental goods since I moved home quite few times when I was young. But since I got married I kept things that mean a lot to me. Something in my past that I could share with my children or even my children's children. Believe it or not, I still have my teddy bear from when I was 9 years old, and my son has it now.

So, why don't you have a go on this. One day you can tell about your past. You can also do this on your children's belonging (i.e first baby's clothing/favorite toys, first drawing, first book, etc). Keep them in a nice box and share the story one day when they grow older.

we are kind of doing a time capsule.. we are keeping things of our daughters like first toy, hair cut etc and just keeping them all in safe places. its a good idea though isn't it. I just loved doing this when i was growing up as my mum did it for me.
