Age gaps

MARIECHRONOPOULOS by MARIECHRONOPOULOS In Nappies(January 2009) (rank 500+)

Re: Age gap for siblings
Asked by Becca

Question:

Hey mum and dads

What do you think is a good age gap between your kids and why do you think so?

Any difference between boys and girls?

Please share

your experience as a parent or sibling.

Thank you

Becc

My Advice:

2 to 3 years is a great age gap as the children grow up together. I have 4 children. The oldest 2 have 3 years between them and have always played together. Now that they are in their teens, they still hang out and are very close. The other 2 have 2 years between them and they are close also. the last 2 children have a very big age gap and do not get along with the eldest 2. Their intrests are far to imature for the eldest 2.

Re: Age gaps

my little guy will be 18 months when our second arrives, he seems to be taking everything well at the moment, he loves to pat my belly, hug and wave to it,

my brother an i are 20 months apart, we get along most of the time now, and from memory we always played together well as kids, mind you i'm not a girly girl at all so playing in the sand pit with trucks and in the mud was a great fun for both of us, we didnt spend much time together as teens, he went to live with my dad and was making choices that no one in the family agreed with, but he learnt after a while and kicked the bad habits, now he's studing to be a mine surveyer, and life is good

Re: Age gaps

It is great that you shared your experience in the advice section, however it would make for a more informative article if you were to provide some examples to validate the statements you have made.
