Best birth music

MEL192 by MEL192 Crawling(January 2009) (rank 500+)

The number one thing I would recommend you take to the hospital for the birth of your baby is music.  My first labour went for ages, having music on helped so much - it passed the time more quickly. Take whatever music you like.  But I would definatley recommend

Enya - especially the instrumental tracks (no singing). This was fabulous background music.  Even the midwives said it was great.

Re: Best birth music

I love music so much but yet it was the last thing on my mind during my labours. Though I do have short labours . If I had longer labours I would probably appreciate it. Watching TV, playing cards etc. Just too busy birthing usually!

With J, we skipped the hosp part and stayed home. Hubby put on some music that he knew I liked but I didn't need it. It may have helped him though.

Re: Best birth music

To be honest, when I was giving birth the last thing I cared about was music or anything else... We took heaps of things in, even a laptop, we could have played CDs DVDs burned incense and all that jazz, however I wasn't remotely interested in it; I just wanted that baby out.
