Re: Flying with a newborn
Asked by MiloWin
Question:
My wife and I will be flying back home within two weeks of our baby being born. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The flight is about 2.5 hours long.
Thank
you,
My Advice:
We flew recently with our 5 month old, my best tip to you would to have a bottle ready in a thermo bag and put it at your feet rather then in the above head compartment, this way if you need to feed your baby on take off or landing you can, rather then having to wait for the seatbelt sign to be turned off. This was where we went wrong on the way over, did not make that mistake on the way home. Try and get a flight around the time your baby would normally have a sleep this helped us alot, although I think the motion of the plane is usually enough to keep them settled. Take a spare dummy as the seating is very tight, we dropped ours and could not move enough to pick it up. Obviously take a few toys to keep things interesting for them. Also try and stay relaxed, I noticed a mum on our flight who was having a lot of trouble with her little one, but she was not a very good flyer, so this may help also.
Hope your flight goes well.
