I don't know what everyone knows about asthma in babies but, both of my children have asthma. My 10 was diagnosed at the same time as my son at the time she was 9 and he was 6 months. I had taken him to the doctor mutiple times for
stuffy, runney noses, cough, and discolored eye lids. And the doctor kept giving meds for a cold. I rushed him to the hospital one night he to me was not breathing right he was breathing really fast and hard. He was diagnosed with rsv and asthma. I had taken him to the doctor the day before and was told he was fine he just had a cold. I changed doctors after that, my son would not have had to suffer for as long had the doctor listen to me and the signs that my son was showing for asthma. The doctor at the hospital said he probley would have not been hospitallized had the doctor listen to me and really check my son out, and not just gave him meds. for a cold. Had he been on asthma meds. then he probley would not have cought rsv. I just wonted to give everyone some signs to look for that your child might have asthma not just a cold. And is not just a sickley child. That is something I had many people tell me about my son before he was diagnosed. I heard comments like he is always sick, is he still sick. So hear are just a few signs. I hope no one else has to go learn the way I did that their child has asthma. I also have learned their are different levels of asthma some worst then others. My sons is worst then my daughters. Some common signs are: 1. haveing a stuffy or runney nose often 2. dry cough often 3. discolored upper and lower eye lids(bags for older children) 4. heavy breathing 5. shortness of breath 6. lots of colds, easy to get sick 7. and if they have allergeys(most of asthma attacks are caused by allergic reactions to something). Hope this helps everyone.
