Tips for Boosting Your Chances of Conception |

Things to cut out of both of your lives:
- Smoking
- Drinking Alcohol
- Recreational drugs
- Prescription drugs
- Hazardous chemicals
- Stress
- Herbs that aren’t specifically shown to aid conception
- Caffeine
Healthy habits for conception:
- take a multivitamin with extra folic acid every day
- maintain a BMI of between 20 and 30
- exercise regularly
- get your yearly pap smear, pelvic exam and a full STD screen
- eat a healthy, balanced diet
- drink at least eight cups of water a day
- read pregnancy books
- get lots of sleep
- reduce stress in your life
Specific tips and tricks:
- if you have been on hormonal birth control, it might take some time for your body to begin cycling hormones naturally
- some herbs have been shown to boost your chances of conception such as red raspberry leaf and vitex
- track your monthly cycles: by understanding how your cycle works and when your body is most likely ovulating, you will be able to more effectively time intercourse for conception (see link)
- keep your hips elevated for about half an hour after sex
- try not to use any lubricant or, if you must, only a water based one like KY Jelly or Pre-Seed
- some women report great success when using acupuncture to boost their fertility (see link)
