Disposable Diapers And What Parents Think - Great Help for New Parents

Anonymous Author (February 2009)

This Information i think would really help new parents in deciding which nappies are the best for their bubs and budget. Unlike me who tested each and every nappy before i settle on the Supreme nappies exclusive to Toys R Us. During this time i had to throw quite a

lot of nappies ways as some bub was allergic to and some just leaked or their grip tabs were no good.

Below are reviews of what real people thought about nappies of various brands

NO WET NAPPIES

"I bought these nappies when they had a special on their site. Pack of 192 nappies for $49 delivered. Very good price. The nappy looks like any other, you would not really pick it as a cheapo. Good as a summer nappy, very light. The nappy is very light, I will need to try it on my son a few more times to see if it is capable of absorbing big messes that my son often creates. This is definitely one of the cheapest nappies out there and is very convenient having it delivered to your home (Melb only). The quality seems to be ok, so i think i will keep using the product..

HUGGIES

"Very cute and well made, soft, didn't irritate my son. Expensive, seemed to leak just as much as other cheaper brands, did occasionally find clear jelly blobs. I really liked these nappies and the cute Whinnie the Pooh Pictures are hard to beat but their performance just didn't justify the higher price. I found that in this size, they still had the same problems I had with cheaper nappies so they weren't worth it. If you buy them on special, the price can be good. Basically, for all the raving everyone does about Huggies, I was disappointed and felt let down"

MAMIA ( FROM ALDI)

"Excellent price, perform almost as good as other brands, so close it doesn't matter. They don't look nice like Huggies, however they still work. Occasionally they do leak and I find little clear jelly blobs on my son. They also seem to be rather easy for my son to pull off. I have mostly used these nappies on my son after using up all the Huggies ones we were given as their price for the quality just can't be beaten. I found particularly with the newborn size, they performed just as well as Huggies and couldn't justify the extra price. They are a little plain looking but who cares, they're nappies and you don't usually see them."

SNUGGLERS

"Good adjustable tabs for refastening..keeps baby dryer than some others like Baby Love. They are often on special. Better leakage control as advertised on packaging is a bit misleading as it may be better than what they used to be but are still nowhere near as good as Huggies or even some of the cheaper brands like Woolies Home Brand. We have tried all of the Nappies on the market and for the price of snugglers when on special they are a good daytime nappy and ok at night if your little one isn't a big wetter at night otherwise i would recommend you put a pair of pilchers on as they do have leakage around the legs and sides. Tabs can break also if you pull them too hard so be careful with that also otherwise you find yourself resorting to sticky tape to fasten them.

BABY LOVE

"Fit around baby tummy well and fit baby according to the weight guide - cheap if bulk bought. Leak at night badly and get through lots in the day. I liked the babylove nappies until baby got to 4 months and was on lots of milk. This size leaked every night and we had to change to Huggies. Baby can also need changing every hour and a half in the day so you use lots of nappies, and this makes them a lot less value for money as you use so many. You need to watch the clock and take spare clothes everywhere. Disappointing."

YOU'LL LOVE COLE BABY

This is the brand of nappies that is affordable and practical to buy. The quality is almost the same as that of the expensive brand I used to buy. I experienced the grip tabs ripped off several times. There is also no odour control, perhaps because the nappy itself is unscented. Coles nappies did and is still doing a great job to my kids. I have tried several brands in the market but this is the one to which I stick really. I think the quality I get from this nappies is worth the money that I spent for every pack.

These are just some of the nappies that were reviewed by the parents. Lots more reviews are avilable for you to read and vote for. Plus there are many more other brands all which i could not post here. Reviewing product not only helps others who may be think of buying them but also helps you bring out your opinion. Overall for me i love the supreme nappies from Toys R Us. They are $30 a box, so affordable plus you get many nappies in one box. Main thing they are super absorbent.
