party bags for 3's

Re: Party bags
Asked by Melgress

Question:

Hello,

I am organising a party for my sons 3rd birthday and wondering about some ideas for the 'goodie bags'.  I don't want to just fill them up with lollies, but I can't think of

any other 'good for you' treats that the kids will love as much as lollies!

Any ideas?

My Advice:

Hi .great things for party bags other than lollies for 3 year olds

Dried fruit ie sultanas, apricots, apples or pears & bananas (great in little boxes)

Apricot bars or pieces in coconut

Yogurt coated fruit (found in health food section)

Yogurt or carob frogs

Popcorn (3 y.o. are usually quite able to eat it. if unsure check with parents)

Small packets of rice wheels (instead of chips)

Lollies use natural ones that don't have artificial colours or preservatives

Chalk (kids can draw on paths or almost anywhere & it comes off)

Mini packs of pencils or crayons

As a party activity let them make something like a crown or fridge magnet (so many things) a little messy but kids love it & a great thing that they get to take home

Glitter a little poured in each bag for a little magic

A gem stone or crystal or some wishing stones (the colour glass type you put around you pot plant in the do it yourself shows)

Balloons always a party favorite or try the larger punch ball type

I could keep going but this should give some ideas. I've been doing kids parties for years now with quite a few more to come.

Also make the birthday cake exciting ask your 3 y.o. what they would like. then if you can make one (there great fun I have found the more challenging the better) if you don't feel up to it or not enough time ask a family members grandparents are great or ask a friend & if all else fails buy one.

Just have fun with it

Packaging is everthing when it comes to party bags. By placing party bag items are placed into the centre of a sheet of tissue paper. Push the centre of the tissue paper into a gift bag. The edges of the tissue paper need to be left showing over the top of the party bag (all colour matching). Makes the party bags look really smart.

Great suggestions.  I just did a 3 year old party as well.  This one was Thomas themed.  Goodie bags were train focussed as well.  A small train, a notepad with each childs name on it and a pencil and eraser, small pack of sultanas, small pack of natural confectionary lollies, kinder chocolate (the small bar).  I think that was all I put in.

Can always adapt to the party theme and gender of the kids.  Mine was a boys (obviously) and girls can be a bit more girlie so to speak.
