Girls Craft For The Holidays (and for the little boys and girls who like to wear mummys make up)

mand by mand Crawling(April 2009) (rank 500+)

I have a three year old and six year old girls who love all the girly things which is fine and yes some boys enjoy making these things to I have been making these activities for the past sixteen years looking after other peoples children which I would like to

share with you there will be more later on hope you enjoy. Spending time with your child or setting them up with an activity is the most rewarding thing watching how much they enjoy it. These activities can also be learning activities for example learning about colours with the makeup and learning about different skin colours, hair curly or straight, long or short what colour eyes do you have?

Head Bands

Idea 1  You need a plain head band the hard plastic ones that have no material on them and newspaper now you can either paint with nail polish best to do outside not for a long period of time because nail polish is quite strong.

Idea 2   Plain plastic head bands again using small stickers eg flowers, hearts, stars ect stick them on.

Plain hair clips the bendy ones/ Bobby pins

Idea 1  Plain hair clips you can buy fake little flowers ribbons in a bow little lady birds ect and stick them on cheap shop or craft shops have big supplies.

Idea 2  Bobby pins paint with nail polish I make some for my self once so it matched my nail polish yes I was about sixteen.(coloured nail polish with glitter in it looks good)

For the older girls who like to sow Scrunchies   (Baby hair bands)

Any small scrape of material and cut 30cm long 8cm wide you will all so need some elastic you don't have to go out and buy elastic if you have some trousers you are throwing out or under wear. Fold the material once cut push the elastic through  with a knitting needle or something long and thin once through tie the elastic then cut elastic push the ends of material in all done.

When my girls were little and their hair was long enough for a pony this is what I made Buy some ribbon fold and buy thin elastic which you can sow with sparkly looks good basically sow the elastic through the middle of the ribbon tie up and their you go yes this is ok for girls as well as babies.

Now for the young children who love mums make up  Older children also like to do this to. (Makeup Face)

Draw a big head, (face) on A4 sheet of paper with no hair with eye lids, big lips and make about four, so the activity lasts longer or you might like to make one to! Give your child some make up lip stick, eye shadow ect and of they go they love it. ( We call this Make up Face after they can add hair with wool and sticky tape we buy the sticky tape holder from the news agency or get them to draw the hair first so you don't get makeup on pencils ect.) Add earrings necklaces ect.

Nail Painting Picture

Draw round your child's or let them draw round your hands on A4 paper once again make a few draw at the top of the fingers a curved line to make the nails colour in the nails with pencils or nail polish depending on age. You can add rings on the fingers and bracelets ect. We once used nut shells and glued them on as nails and painted for those who are allergic to nuts something safe from the garden dried leaves, things that have fallen from the trees or coloured paper cut as nails to glue on or let them make their own.

Have fun making!!

I can see kiddies having tons of fun doing these crafts!  Better yet when they get to proudly wear what they have made!  Time together is most important!

Thankyou just added some photos their are so many things you can do with your children that dont cost anythink and they are the things they love the most because its time with us.They love wearing things they make. I looked after some older girls the other night one was doing a poster for school, and the other child was making cards out of paper (snap) J was doing her homework spelling and L was glueing pictures and glitter on the letters of her name. I loved it!!!!
