Re: Desperately wanting
Asked by lyndj

Question:

Hi, we are desperately wanting to have a baby and I have been off the pill for 5 months but nothing yet... The doctors tell me it will take time and logically I know this but

I have spoken to so many women who say they fell pregnant almost immediately after stopping the pill. So as you can imagine, feeling a little down at the moment and alone in this situation as my friends can't understand because it happened quickly with them. Would just like to hear from others on how to cope with the disappointment everytime we take a test and it is negative and the waiting....

My Advice:Hi this is babytalk

I know how you feel I have been trying for a year now. I stop taking the pill also a year ago every month since have been hard for me and hearing the same stories about how others stop the pill and got pregnant right away makes me feel like my girl parts don't work anymore. Don't get me wrong i am happy for others but it upsets me at time. So this month the verdict is still out i dont know if i am pregnant yet i have like a week before my period. But the only things get me through it  is keeping busy and praying then a stroller go's by just kidding. But seriously stay busy  and it will happen for you soon. Oh two more things i am 31 and i have a 12 year old son that i had when i was  20 and i was  not trying 12 years ago. But desperately want two more I have the names already picked out. Re: Auto-saved advice

I was on the pill for 23 years before having my son.  I came off of the pill and it took 4 months to fall pregnant.  My son is now 11 months old and we have been trying since January for our 2nd child.  Not happening.  I know how you feel every month the disappointment.  Have you tried an ovulation kit?  You test yourself from about the 10th day of your cycle looking for the LH surge, when you have that surge you need to have sex with 24-36 hours to get lucky.  I know everyone has told you this already but try to relax.  Don't get uptight about not falling pregnant, it will happen when your body is ready.  I believe things happen for a reason and maybe the time is not quite right.  Try going away for a dirty weekend and try to forget the fact that you are having sex to fall pregnant and just enjoy the moment.  I wish you well and if you need to talk do not hesitate to email me.  Don't give up just keep having fun trying.  Practice makes perfect.
