Clothing (what you should need for 3 or 4 days)

ecmd by ecmd Crawling(May 2009) (rank 500+)

Hi,

I thought I would make a list of clothing that a baby would go through in about 3 or 4 days.

Have a look.

Newborn - 6 months 00000-00

autumn-winter

6 suits (bonds suits are pretty good just buy a size bigger

that you usually get for baby as bonds are small).

12 singlets or singlet suits (these are better for younger bubs as they don’t ride up there little backs and tummies).

12 pairs of socks of booties.

3 warm hats

2 pair of pj's

2 jackets

a few wraps or a sleeping bag.

spring-summer

6 shorts sleeved suits (best and less had good ones for like $3).

12 singlets or singlet suits (these are better for younger bubs as they dont ride up there little backs and tummies).

6 pairs or sock of booties.

1 sun hat.

2 pair of pj's

sleeping bag or a few wraps.

light jacket.

6-12months 00-1

12-36months 1-3

autumn -winter

6 tracksuits

6 socks

12 singlets

some shoes.

2 pair of pj's.

I would still have some warm hats on handy even at this age.

a sleeping bag is still good until around 2.

2 jackets

spring-summer

6 outfits

2 pairs of socks.

2 sun hats.

3 singlets

shoes

2 pairs of pj's

a sleeping bag is still good until around 2.

a light jacket

Extra's

1 or 2 nice outfits for going out is also good.

and some togs as well.

Re: Clothing

I would say the list may work, depending on the climate too.  Where i live, some things don't get worn very much, especially if baby is born in summer....i had two summer bubs and being sub-tropics nappies and singlets were all i needed for ages.  Must admit thought, i would have five times that amount of clothing if not more....it seems to come out of the wood work from other people as hand-me-downs!  You can never have enough, especially if 'laundry mountain' is neglected for a day or so.  I like the idea of the all in one suits rather than singlets too, because of the fact that they don't ride up.

Re: Clothing

No offense, but the title 'clothing' doesn't really tell any potential readers a lot about the article content... I also think that the list is a little sparse, some babies would go through that many clothes in a day or two, let alone a week.  More hats; especially for bubs who go out regularly, they are always hard to find at the last minute.  One sleep suit/bag etc is no where near enough, regardless of age & how much you love doing laundry, 3-4 would be the minimum I could cope with.  If babies aren't well, or prone to reflux etc. they can go through quite a few changes of clothes per day.
