HOW TO MAKE A PADDED COAT HANGER

HOW TO MAKE PADDED COAT HANGER!

TOOLS

Quantity of wadding

Scissors

Plastic clothes hangers

Needles and thread

Pencil and paper

Remnant of floral fabric

Dressmaker’s spins

Length of ribbon

For fragrance you could add fragrance

beads or lavender..

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Cut a strip of wadding about 1m long and 10cms(4inches) wide, then wind it around the clothes hanger,

hand stitch into place.

STEP 2

Draw around the hanger to make a paper template,

Then cut out 2 pieces of floral fabric to this size,

Allowing 2cm of fabric for steam allowance.

STEP 3

Pin the fabric to the padded hanger,

Then turn under the steam allowance all around then hand stich the fabric pieces together, pulling tightly around the wadding.

STEP 4

Tie a pretty ribbon around the hook of the hanger

This sounds like fun & it is a good idea, as it helps clothes to keep their shape... Very handy for good coats, jackets, dresses, cardi's & the like.  These would make a nice gift for someone too... I agree with Winja, that may be why it is scoring low & yes, it would be good in a craft group.  However it I think it is much better than those recipe's that get posted as advice.

great tips, i will definately try it!

i think you have a low rating due to the fact that this isnt really parenting advice? its more a craft activity which is very cool, but probably suited better in one of the craft groups on minti :)

its great i love making them...kids like to hang there clothes on cool hangers to..
