My poor lonely daughter

leaia by leaia Crawling(June 3rd) (rank 500+)

My Daughter is 1 and im 8months pregnant, it soo hard to lookafter her including myself, her legs constantly kick and she's in that stage where she wants to explore the whole world and is so active.  I do try and play with her, and i wouldnt mind taking her

to preschool but im just in that stage where im still investigating.  i can read her books but i cant pick her up and play with her or sleep with her.   but during the day is when i feel sorry for her most sometimes i see her waking around in circles with her head down becaus eshe's tired of her toys, she loves watching hi 5, dora the explorer or kung fu panda, but i dont like her sitting at fromt of the t.v all day!! so me and my husband were thinking if only she had a pet..  A puppy? woud seem to much for me to look after, A cat?? wel we dont really like cats.  then we thought of something perfect! A RABBIT! it was perfect small, cute and less hassle to look after it! She LOVES IT, we named him fluffy, keeps her active and she loves chasing it around, she even thinks that he's chasing her back and starts laughing!! I reccomend a pet rabbit would be wonderful for any toddler! she jus adores it.  There wouldnt have been a better solution for us!! and it was only $20 apart from that its clean, easy to look after, doesnt smell uness you take it outside, but its a house rabbit! dont spend much with food, and does cost much at all to maintain as for the cage!! we built it ourselves for under $30 at bunnings...  the prices for a cage were sooo stupid, and yet the materials were common to find. $250 -$300 then my husband thought, im sure i can make one. so thats what we did! and you find everything at bunnings! it was perfect!!

So if anyone is thinking of choosing a pet for you loney child i highly reccomend a Rabbit!

Re: My poor lonely daughter

Well everyone has diffrent cases and live in a diffrent environment! if it has made you happy, then good on you!! I just donlt like the smell of pets at all..  but i guess a rabbit is not as rough as dogs and cats.. im scared that anytime they might just get fiesty and bite.  I guess a fish is good, but then agan you did say you wanted you daughter to get up and run around and have a friend.

I really don't know about a rabbit, we went for two dogs when the kiddies were all little and I would not recommend two dogs with five kiddies!  A lot of work and money!  My kiddies were all very close together and I think you are so right that kiddies need movement, company and less T.V.!  Good points!

Re: My poor lonely daughter

some places like where I live Rabbits are not a good pet. we have a desease called mixamatosis (sp) that is rampid where I live and that kills rabbits in a grapgic and gory way. My hubby still has bad thoughts after seeing his rabbit die that way as a child.

I think fish are a great thing.
