Always Know When To Work And When To Relax

Flygon23 by Flygon23 In Nappies(August 10th) (rank 500+)

well i noticed that a lot of parents are taking maternity leave and my co workers told me i should be at home instead of working or going out for the weekend., even though i am only 4 months pregnant i still consider my self to be pretty fit, but

people think just because my belly is very big that i should be staying at home. so i told them, i still have 5 months to go so there should be a time to relax and a time to have fun, and until i go into labor i will try to have fun

Re: Always Know When To Work And When To Relax

I think knowing your own body is the most important thing.

Re: Always Know When To Work And When To Relax

Firstly I gotta say.....58 and 4 months pregnant....you are brave!

Secondly...only 4 months? You not trying to pull the wool over our eyes? You look a lot further along than 4 months (Unless you are carrying triplets or more).

Ok, with regards to the topic at hand, as a man with no personal experience with carrying a child, but with a decent education regarding the intricacies of the human body, I believe that once a pregnant lady becomes quite pronounced in the belly, they need to start thinking about taking it a little easier. Not so much for the safety of the baby, because they are really well protected in there, but more aimed at the angle of back care.

Once a pregnancy has developed enough to really load up on the back pressure, I believe it is then when a lady should consider slowing down a bit more. Once your back starts complaining about the extra pressure, it is time to take it easier. In saying this, I'm not talking about stopping doing everything, I'm referring more to taking it easier, maybe doing what you love for slightly shorter periods than before.

It is really a persons own individual feelings that determine when a person should take it easy, with the exception being ladies working in dangerous, toxic or high risk jobs. Perhaps settling into a more relaxed routine might be warranted then.

As long as a person is being sensible, and working within their capabilities and the pregnancy is not preventing them from doing their job properly, I can see no reason why a lady should have to leave work, or stop doing the things they routinely do. Be sensible and simple do everything within your physical limits and you should be fine...

You look rather large for someone who is only 4 months pregnant were you carrying more than 1 baby or have any fluid related problems?

Good title' it is a good statement it itself, however your article offers no advice about how to determine when to work & when to relax.

Re: Always Know When To Work And When To Relax

BTW I hope you don't mind me asking, however I noted on your homepage that is states you are 58, (which makes it kind of amazing that you are pregnant) and your son is 49... Is this a typo as that would mean that you were 9 when you gave birth to him.  Also, you do seem extremely large for someone who is 4mths pregnant... Is it because you are having twins?

Re: Always Know When To Work And When To Relax

Oh, my apologies, I misread what  you wrote on your homepage; your daughter is 49, not your son... He is only 17.

Re: Always Know When To Work And When To Relax

I think if this was expanded on a little it could be good. Atm its not really advice.

On the other hand, when my mum was pregnant she worked right up till I was born which was 2 weeks late lol. Tho my dad worked at the same place, and she was just counting money but its your own choise when you stop working. I had to stop working streight up with my 1st cause I could hardly get out of bed.
