Recently I was having alot of trouble with my teeth after going to my dentist who I have been getting dental work done for 18 months. I had been to the dentist 3 times in the last month because I was having trouble on both sides of my mouth and
couldn't eat properly because I would hurt everytime I ate food.I had two xrays at his office and then one at the hospital and he still couldn't find anything wrong with my teeth.
My next step was to go to my chiropractor he releived the pain in my jaw for a while and his opinion was that it was my teeth giving me the problem which was putting added stress on my jaw.
Then 1 morning my face was swollen on one side after spending two days in excrutiating pain so I went to my doctor. The doctor then referred me to a specialist to see if I had neralga as after telling her I had been to the dentist 3 times this was the next step to take. Before I went to see the specialist I deceided to go to another dentist.
On a full examination he discovered I had and abbsess under my tooth and my tooth needed a root canal he was shocked and appalled that my dentist could not see this considering I had been there three times in the last month. I was lucky not to lose my tooth as the damage was nearly down to my jawbone. On full examination of my teeth he has found I need alot of work done or should I say corrected.
Most proffessionals are exactly that professional but unfortunately there are some out in the community that are not and are not concerned about your health.
My advice is never made feel embarrased that you need to seek a second opinion.
Also never put your full faith in the one professional.
If you feel something is not right then question it.
If you have a complaint write them a letter or report them to the medical board.
