Other uses for breastmilk... |

The obvious use is to nourish your child, but here are some other things that you may not have known that breastmilk does wonders for:
- Use it on eye gunk. For conjuctivitus, squirt milk on it and it should clear up within a day or two. More milk is better, especially if there's a lot of gunk.
- Use it for ear infections. Many pediatricians are starting not to recommend antibiotics for regular ear infections anyway, and this is a safe an effective treatment. Just squirt it in the ear.
- Same for stuffed-up noses--are you sensing a pattern here?
- Itchy skin and eczema. Spray it on and rub it in.
- Likewise, you can spray it onto cuts, which will make them heal faster. Just make sure you air-dry, because even though human milk has antibacterial properties, bacteria still do love a warm, wet area..
- You can use it in cooking and baking food once your child has started solids. There's a great recipe for oatmeal pancakes that uses breast milk somewhere out there on the internet, but you can substitute it for cow's milk in any recipe and give it to your child--it's healthier than cow's milk, and sweeter.
