natural child bith

starjaz by starjaz Crawling(October 6th) (rank 500+)

As it was my first time falling pregnant I was very nervous about giving birth. I had everyone telling me how painful it is, all these horror stories.I was so scared. I was thinking thinking I'm going to have drugs when I give birth I will never get through it

otherwise.  But as i kept going for me check ups I had one wonderful midwife (that I think helped me have a good birthing experience) that would give me great advise and give me a positive thoughts about labor. Saying things like we women are made for giving birth you can do it! And letting me know the more i stayed calm the less it would hurt. and really trying to encourage me to give birth without drugs. I read more into giving birth natural and how your baby is so much more alert and they want to feed straight away. So I thought I was going to give it ago.

My friends would ask me if i was nervous coming to the end of my pregnancy but I wasn't at all because I had put in my mind that i can do it that's what I'm made for. So with all the positive thoughts i was having I did it without drugs! I was so happy with myself. After a 6 hr labor  I had a beautiful girl.

So just remember you can give birth naturally you just need that positive attitude and don't let people try to scare u about giving birth remember its what we are here to do

Oh wow, every woman deserves a support person like that in their first pregnancy especially!

I had 4 natural births and I am so glad that I did. I had my most natural birth last year at home and its an amazing experience to feel empowered that I as a woman can birth without pain. (Yes I found the contractions uncomfortable for good reason but the birth was painless this time. :D )

I also had a drug-free labour and, believe me, it was not my first choice. unfortunately mine wasn't as quick as 6 hours, lasting 4 days and in the end, after trying to have my beautiful boy at home, went to the hospital for a little help.

There's no denying that it was painful but you are so right when you say that babies are much more alert without the aid of pain relief and its the safer option for them too and that's what made me go for a natural birth in the end.

I would definately have a natural birth again when ever i have another baby. No pain no gain, and I most certainly gained a lot when my little one made an appearance.

Best of luck

Wow, how awesome that you got through childbirth without drugs...and to have such a great midwife. Being positive is a great attitude. We can never underestimate the power of the mind, and in your case, your mind conquered the pain. Sometimes, as parents, we get caught up in sharing our birth experiences with those to-be mothers and inadvertently scare them, knowing full well that most of us would gladly do it over.

Glad to hear of your positive childbirth experience without drugs, and I hope you inspire others.
