Productivity Placement Program (PPP)

Productivity Placement Program (PPP)

Are you a stay at home mum or dad who has no former tertiary qualifications and is looking at studying to help get back in to the workforce or increase your skills to advance within the workforce? Can you afford the costs? Can you

afford the time?

What if I told you there was a way you could obtain a FREE qualification funded by the government, studying distance education which means you get to study around looking after the kids in your spare time?

What if I told you there are FREE courses available to upgrade your current skills in the workforce?

Well there is a way! And it’s called Productivity Placement Program (PPP). PPP allowed me to successfully obtain CERT III in Children’s Services for FREE. That’s a TAFE course worth around $3000 which I did not have the money for.

I stayed at home and looked after my son and during his nap times and freetime, I studied. When each module was completed I sent them away in to an envelope to be marked and then rang the course co-ordinator to enrol in to the next couple of modules, which would be sent out to me in the mail within a week or so.

My teacher was available via E-mail and telephone to answer any questions I had, including any help needed with reading materials and assignments. One time I was going in to hospital and came down with glandular fever so had to ask for a month’s extention on one of the modules. All I had to do to ask for the extention was E-mail her and explain my circumstances.

PPP offers a range of qualifications that the state has skill shortages of.

To be eligable:

·         You must be either a permanent  resident of Australia or be an existing Australian citizen and in some cases a humanitarian refugee.

·         Unemployed

·         Over the age of 15

·         An eligable job seeker (with job seeker number/CRN)

·         Must not already be a fulltime student or self-employed

·         Other cases can be considered by registering with ESP

To enrol or ask any extra information visit your local job search agent such as Cadet Australia or Surina Russo.

Once you get the forms you will be asked to have a JP sign the documents stating that they have viewed your original documents, or you will be asked to attach certified copies.

Hopefully this will help some of you parents get the jobs that you want or the qualifications that you need so you can help support your family. I understand how difficult things can be and how tight money can get, especially within this economic crisis xo

Thanks Janice can't wait to start I really do hope this gets a mum or dad a certificate they could use to get in to something they really want to do. There are some super stars out there just waiting for an opportunity like this but don't have the money for whatever reason to excel xo

Re: Productivity Placement Program (PPP)

Yeah it is totally awesome I had always wanted to get in to Children's services and when I saw the cost I freaked out as we couldn't afford that much money at the time. I looked around trying to either find scholarships who would take me from having a high OP, locally funded programs (where rich people pass away and donate their money to people studying certain courses) and even traineeships. That's when I came across PPP! I start working in child care next week and I'm still studying to finish advanced diploma to use for uni credit (bachelor of early childhood education). It will give me 1 1/2 - 2 years credit which means I only have to go to uni for about 12 months and saves me thousands of dollars in hecs debt.
