Mummy time is so important for ALL mums

rcp-432 by rcp-432 Walking(October 21st) (rank 264th)

i know we are all very guilty sometimes for not taking the time to take care  of ourselves,as our lives and responcibilities revolve around our kids.

Sometimes without even realising, we forget about the one person that also needs a bit of love and affection after    ............

the kids , the partner .

its YOU  dont ever forget you are a person too that is also entitiled to be pampered and   loved and cared for aswell  . because when you start doing everthing for everyone

else and forget your needs you will begin to start running yourself into the ground.

this is not a good thing and doesnt help at all for you or anyone involved .  things you can do to take time out for yourself as a new mum or a mum that has older children is

  • take a long hot bath once the kids have gone to bed
  • if the kids are having a nap in there beds , catch up on some much needed rest
  • read a book that you have been looking forward to reading
  • watch a movie
  • eat lollies that you have hidden from the kids and hubby
  • make yourself a coffee
  • book in for a hair cut when the kids are with a babysitter or at daycare

these are just some of the things that you can do to enjoy and look after YOU

because you are a very special person

i know myself that having four children of my own  all under 5 and one with a very severe to very severe disability that  after a day of dealing with everything to do with the kids and appointments plus the hubby

im stuffed and just want to go to bed , but then who after looking after everyone else am i forgetting to give attention too

ME

so for me i have now began having a cup of tea (mandatory for mummytime , can be coffee too or milo with a biscuit )

once everyone is in bed and then i spend an hour or two with just me or sometimes with hubby

now this makes sure i  can be the best mummy i can be because all mummies need to remember without looking after yourself how can

we properly look after everyone else when we feel so  that we cant give as much  and we are drained so from now on

please take time for yourself even if it is only 10 mins to do something you like  it is very important

and you will feel the better for it

Re: Mummy time is so important for ALL mums

How true this advice is for everyone. Everyone needs some me time, just to do something or nothing for ourselves. We are important and for our own well-being and to be able to function with everyday events we deserve our  time.

Re: Mummy time is so important for ALL mums

Fantastic advice.

I am only (after 4 years) just starting to take time for myself. I could never stay up late because my 4 year old never slept through the night so i would be up with him at 3am while he played. So as soon as he went to bed i would go to just to get some sleep. Now both my kids (4 year old and a 23 month old) attend day care 1 day a week and i get a full mummy day. It has been the best thing for me, i can do what ever i like.

Thanks for sharing
