Nappy rash treatment

Roomtogrow by Roomtogrow Crawling(October 24th) (rank 500+)

Nappy rash is so common and nearly every baby will get it!

Here are some helpful tips I found useful:

  • change your babies nappies frequently through the day.
  • change you babies nappy before you put them down for a sleep.
  • use zinc base creams, paw
paw creams are also quite good for treating nappy rash.
  • some other things you can do when your baby is awake, is to leave your baby without a nappy and popping a cloth, or absorbent towel underneath them giving them some nappy free time.
  • when applying the cream make sure your babies bottom is dry, apply a thick layer of cream to the bottom.
  • be aware of the types of wipes you use, some wipes are very high in perfumes and alcohol and they can irritate the skin as well.
  • if you notice that your babies skin is red and irritated switch wipes to a face washer with warm water and a drop of olive oil in your water, this can help keep the area nice and clean.

I hope these tips help...

Re: Nappy rash treatment

Cornstarch browned in a pan on the stove works like magic.

Also, if your baby girl has frequent diaper rash, you need to make sure that it's not a yeast infection. Yeast infection in babies is (obviously) way different than in adults. If the diaper area is covered in little raised bumps, or has open sores that don't go away after a day or so, then it's time to go to the doctor to get some cream.
