fussy babies

silly-mummy by silly-mummy Walking(August 2006) (rank 500+)

my son was a very fussy baby and only a few things helped to settle him if you have a fussy baby then you will know what its like to want just ten minutes to yourself, if thats you read on,

i used a baby sling alot which meant

my son could still be close to me but i could get on and do the dreaded housework, he liked being close to me alot and it helped keep him calm but i know its also not practical all of the time,

i tried my son with a dummy ( soother ) but he didnt like them one bit, totally different with my daughter i cant wean her off of them which is one big dis-advantage to them

also i a baby swing........ what a god send!!!!!!!! we bought a wind up one so no need for batteries which saved us a fortune and it worked a treat he loved it, in fact i kept it, used it when i had my daughter and iv still got it for the next its six years old and still a firm favourite with us!!

something else that my son loved was the sound of a dripping tap or a loud clock so he could here the ticking if we moved him away he would cry instantly

massaging my son was always good for settling him at night he would have his night feed then a bath then a massage and drop straight off to sleep, fantasic.

hope this helps some

Massage
Yes it is very helpful massage promotes bonding, circulation and closeness and although some parents tip toe around while bub is nodding off or completly asleep some noise is good as they know someone is still there so please don't provide a totally soundproof enviroment when bub is asleep

Massage
Lots of good tips in there.  They are all worth a try at the very least, there is nothing worse than knowing a solution to soothing a child and not at least trying it when nothing else seems to be working.
Peace
