Hello MaddyLutz.  What can we do to help you Sweety?  First off being pregnant at a young age is difficult.  Being pregnant is difficult period!   If you are saying your pregnancy is a result of a rape, then you need to talk to someone that can help you.

Do you have a good support group?  People you can trust to act on your best interests?  Do you have your parents to back you?  Have you thought through every thing you need to?  There are lots of lovely woman here from all different backgrounds with all different experiences.  I know if you make the connections you can find help here from individuals or from groups. I wish you all the best and offer help if I can aid you.

Hi Sheree. I'm Lyn and I've just joined. I went through a period of time where I had both 3 teens and 2 toddlers and they behaved in exactly the same way. However, I thoroughly believe the teens were a lot harder to deal with, because I didn't try to reason with the toddlers. Now my oldest teen has just turned 20, my middle son (who has just turned 18) is a Dad by choice, not chance, and my 16 year old is stable, but throwing all his plans for his adult career away because he's met a girl he likes.

I'm also guardian to another 16 year old, my son's fiance who came to live with us a year ago, and my husband and I help support them as they parent their 7 month old together.

This is a difficult time and the only advice I can give is to maintain your dignity and tell your teen you love them, even in the worst times. They can't be reasoned with but you should tell them how you feel about their actions anyway, at least so you can cover your butt when it all falls apart and they wonder why you never said anything. My 20 year old is only now finding her way back after years of drugs, assault charges, 2 pregnancies (neither made it to term), spouse abuse by her fiance, massive debt and general rudeness. I helped her through these times, but I made sure she knew how I felt about them and that I didn't approve of her choices.. Now she comes to me a gentler person and maintains that I was the only person who tried to help her when everybody else either ignored her actions or turned their back.

Even through the worst of it, when I had to protect my other children and ask my daughter to leave the family home, I made sure to contact her every day by SMS and tell her I love her, even when I didn't fully believe it myself. Yes, there were days when I doubted my love for her. She caused our family a lot of pain, but even then I knew it was her actions I hated, not her. She will never be my sweet little girl again, but as time passes and the wounds heal, she's becoming a woman I can talk to, even if the conversations are sometimes short.

This is a dark time and there will be days where you will wonder if it will end at all, let alone in a positive way. It will. My sons have seen how I handled my daughter and when they had the hard decisions to make, they came to me. Sure, they ignored my advice and did what they wanted anyway, but they did so knowing that I have their back and always will.

Stay strong, stay true and remember the love.
