children complain about chores....

we never really got pocket money at home, but it was attempted a few times, but when pay day came and passed with no outcome we gave up on helpiung out. one of the tricks they did use that worked quit well was picking small amounts for little things. like if you had firewood that needed to be bought inside, 10c for every log that they bring in etc. cheaper alternative to pockert money if you don't want to go down that path.  my brothers were actually asking for jobs to do!

Worked until the parental units ran low on spare change!

after picking up this and picking up that, for years and getting hassled when I asked for help, I finally set down the law if you don't want to clean your room, then I will but you won't like the results! ok what ever mom. The result was junk of theirs along with cloths all over the front lawn. that about did the trick after when they would whine I would just tell them if they wanted to go out then they needed to clean their rooms help with the everyday chores of the house.we had a relaspe for awhile and I fell into my old habits of picking up, but stopped myself. when the kids came home that day I informed them that they were not to call me Mom anymore as I had figured out what it meant to them from now on they could call me Mother. So when they called Mom I didn't answer they quickly tired of this any starting helping again. Oh in case you were interested Mom to my kids I discovered stood for My Own Maid that was way I insisted on them calling me Mother.
