Are you having trouble staying awake????

Jessgore by Jessgore Young Parent(August 2006) (rank 4th)

Some tips to keep you awake (with out having to go for a caffine hit)...

1: When having a shower before you finish turn the water cold for a few seconds (this one always wakes me up).

2: Stick a wet face washer in the freezer, the night

before, and when you wake up in the morning and need a very quick wake me up just grab the face washer and wipe it over your face. (I put the face washer in a zip lock bag).

3: Or if you have ice blocks just rub one across your forhead.. Always works for me, not as good as the cold face washer but if you have ice blocks handy and forgot to stick the washer in the fridge, it helps. :)

Too chicken
Great ideas.  But I fear I would be far too chicken to actually wake myself up with something so cold!  Then again right now it is cool in the UK and apparently (depending who you listen to) we are in for a cold snap that will last 4-6 months!!!  So maybeit is related to that also.  LOL
Peace

my cure for tiredness

Agreed sleep in the best cure. And I try to get as much of it as possible.. Only problem is when the hubby is at work and I am the only one home with baby, I don't really have a choice. And these were my little tricks to keep me awake until he napped.. Which at the time I wrote this was not a lot....

Still sleep is always the best cure... :)

Could you have a physical problem?

I add this only because I had this exact situation a few years back.  I had a retail store about 11 miles from my home, in the afternoon on the way home I would become really drowsy.  The situation became so frustrating that I contacted a doctor who promptly found my deviated septum.

A quick surgery and my energy level skyrocketed.  Don't just think as you get older you slow down that is a load of .... well let me tell you it may be something that can be easily fixed.

Good luck.

Could you have a physical problem?

I never thought of that to be honest.. But I don't have much trouble these days staying awake now that my son is sleeping the night. It is usually for those mornings when he gets up before the sun does. And more when he was younger and just not wanting to sleep... But at the same time I might just check that out anyway, as you never know.... I must addmit though I have trouble getting to sleep myself at night, as I always find something  to do on my way to bed and get distracted and need to finish it before I hit the sack...  And not to mention now that I have minti my nights are getting a little longer. :)

But thanks for the thought.... it is always a possibility... Thanks

I feel your pain Jess, I do as you discovered in the wee hours of my morning this morning I have the same troubles finding the bed, though even though I went to bedaround 4.15am I still had to read myself to sleep.  I've always been a crap sleeper, it's such a waste of time and I'm no good at it.  Of all the things to suck at. sigh.  I swear Iwas born tired.  baby photo's of me clearly show bags under my eyes.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
