Fruit in your child's day |

It is recommended we should eat 5 veg, 2 fruit. Here are ideas for including fruit in your day.
Breakfast
- add fruit to cereal or yogurt
- banana toast (if you can afford them)
- make pancakes and add grated apple and pear
- Make
a fruit smoothie with strawberry, banana (again if you can afford it), with low fat milk, yogurt and ice
Snacks
- fresh fruit is always handy though children may prefer it cut up
- freeze fruit like grapes, strawberries and oranges for those hot days
- Puree fruit and freeze to put in cold drinks
- add fruit to muffin and cake mixes
Meals
- include dried fruit in stuffing
- add fruit to salads eg. orange and apple to a tossed salad (a fruit salad is also nice)
- add dried apple of apricot, chopped to cous cous
These are yummy and quick ways to eat enough fruit, I hope it helps others as it has inspired me. I am wanting to eat them all right now!!
