Recently my hubby stepped on one of our kids toys. It was a little BMX bike. The handle bar went right through his callus on his foot. It was bleeding and really sore. I couldn't believe that it went in his foot and made a mark 1/4 in diameter
.He couldn't even walk or jump on the trampoline without it hurting. So needles to say that bike went right to the garbage. Imagine if it was one of the kids that stepped on it? But I guess I should have made the kids pick up the toys when they were through playing with them.
How many of us step on our kids toys during a day? For me it is lots. Everyday I think. So today I was on a mission to find toys that would hurt to be stepped on. I found a bunch of planes, cars, trucks that were metal that got put in a " when the boys are older'' box. I can't believe the kids had so many of toys that would/could end up hurting them. Also that I let them have them.Myself , I buy toys that would stand up to the abuse that kids put them through and would not wreck in 6 months down the line. Ironically enough that seems to be metal and wood. (toys that could hurt them)
Also I came across a bunch of broken toys, that got thrown out also. How many parents go through the kids toys to make sure all the parts are still there? How about the stuffed animals, making sure they aren't ripped and torn?
