snail mail

Dawn by Dawn Talking Back(September 2006) (rank 56th)

A friend of mine is looking for penpals worldwide for her 9 yr old daughter, she prefers girls her own age, but I have looked at different sites on the web and havent been able to find one as of yet .. any advice? or anyone with a child interested

please let me know ... her daughter is looking for a snail mail pen pal lol not an internet one .. thanx

There are alot of sites that have what you are looking for as far as finding penpals for your child. just make sure that she checks them out completely before finding someone that her daughter can penpal with. as we all know, danger lurks everywhere.

Here are a few that she could try  www.youthonline.ca/penpals/penpals for kids

www.studentsof the world.info/penpals/snailmail-mail-penpals.

www.friendship-by-mail.com

I would have posted more for you but if you go into google and search for (snail mail penpals for kids) you will most likely come up with about 94,400 results. so there are alot to choose from, but do a little research on the site before you commit. have fun and I hope your friends daughter enjoys her new friends. Please tell her for me that I think it is wonderful that in todays world of modern technology, that some young people are still staying will old fashion traditions such as letter writing.

Another option ...
I have always had penpals through missionary organisations like World Vision where I write to a child or person of my own age.  Any sponsorship gets sent to the village/childrens home in general for educational purposes usually.  It is a great way to raise awareness of real people living in these hardships.  I dont know how much has changed since for the past few years i have been doing it direct to an orphanage I found out about and so no rules surrounded it as with charity organisations.
Peace

pen pal
My 9 year old daughter would also love to have a pen pal.  She did this in grade three but was not allowed to have the persons home address.  She could only send to the school and that kind of defeats the purpose of a pen pal as I am sure that the office does not want to be a postal worker.  She has asked me a couple of times about this so I do know that she would love the opportunity to have one.  Please feel free to contact me for further information.

pen pal

Brandi received Brittney's letter yesterday.  She was so excited.  She has been wondering if she would receive something, and when it was coming.  She has had a picture in a box to send to her as soon as she found out she was getting a pen pal.  She will be writing back this weekend.

She liked the fact that she included the newspaper article in with her letter and was thrilled that she also likes ACDC.
