Families with multiple kids. No more argueing as to whos turn it is to do what daily chores

Anonymous Author (September 2006)

Having 3 kids, there were always arguments as to who's turn it is to do what chores.   I made a chart monday to saturday.  Each day each of my kids had different chores .eg. Monday  one kids job was written they had to empty the dishwasher  &take

out garbage. Other kids on monday had to sweep and vacuum floors. Third kid on monday had to feed animals do supper dishes.  Tuesday to saturaday  beside their name on the chart was  what chores they had to do  . 6 days a week they always knew what chores they had every day. No more its not my turn to do dishes or vacumming ect.  . All they had to do was look at the chart. Every 6 months i  switched chore duties.

Each sunday  i did all chores not them. I paid them per chore. Depending on age,  some completed chores i paid  ($0.50) per chore others i paid a ($1.00) . If chore wasn't completed or done properly they got no money for that chore, or at least until they completed chore.   Chart for chore list was put on fridge door , all my kids had top do was look at the chart  when they got home from school or on weekend.  My home got alot more peaceful , less complaining as to why do they have to do that chore, it's not their turn to do that chore. Chart eliminated  kids argueing as to who does what??

Not sure as to what your childs allowance should be. Pay them $1.00 per year they are. A 5 yr old gets $5.00 per week. Teach them to save money by putting  ($.50) of their allowance in a piggy bank  that they can't touch. 10 years old and up should  put  $0 .75 in the piggy bank. This applies to parents who's kids do very little in chore aspect.
