Experience with toilet training and my girl

mcm by mcm Young Parent(September 2006) (rank 5th)
My girl was dry at night at 2 years of age. I feel as though she toilet trained backwards compared to what  I have read in books. She was dry at night first then she was doing #2s in the toilet by the time she was 2 1/2 years of
age. I half jokingly said to my hubby that a great Christmas gift from our daughter would be fully tt for Christmas. Strangely enough she was! As of 24th December 2001 she no longer had accidents. When I started her in undies during the day, she would make it half the time and be distracted the other times because she was playing and would wet on the floor. This only happened for a week before she was dry and would go to the toilet. I continued to help her but encouraged her to go by herself as I was due to have a baby after her 3rd birthday.
I hope our experience has helped someone as I think its important to see that children are different. My girl seemed to train differently to my boy. (Read our experience with my boy in the link below)

toilet training

My daughter was like that. It didn't take her very long either to get toilet trained. Some children are so much easier to train than others, and pick it up alot quicker.

Not to say what they are doing is right- But it may not be completely wrong either. Everyone has a different method, and sometimes there are more than one. They will see whether it works or not soon enough. In the meantime they have to live with the guilt they undoubtedly will feel each and every time they make that child cry.
