Prevent future bedwetting

pfallerj by pfallerj Proud Parent(September 2006) (rank 101st)

Today's first time parenting tip - Breastfeeding as long as possible has lots of benefits

Came across an interesting tip from some research released by Pediatrics. They say that breastfeeding past 3 months will make your baby less likely to wet the bed after he's four

years old.

They tie late bedwetting to delayed neurological development, and breast feeding helps brain development in babies. Just some food for thought.

Re: Prevent future bedwetting
Sorry but I dont agree. I breastfed my eldest two for 3 weeks each and they are now aged 3 and 5 and very, very rarely wet the bed. Unlike my friend's son who was breastfed for 2.5yrs and is now age 4 and still wets the bed almost every night. I dont think breastfeeding has anything to do with it.

prevent future bedwetting, rubbish

What a lot of rot.  I feed my Son for 13 months and he is now 7 and is still wetting the bed.

Sounds like more useless information to make new mothers feel like they are getting it all wrong.
