Milk good or bad?

bubba76 by bubba76 Talking(September 2006) (rank 89th)

Hello, this is my first parenting tip.

Everyone gets told milk is good for our children as they need the calicum  for strong bones and teeth. But the dont tell you too much milk can cause there young teeth to rot away in some children.

As a mother

4  sons and my boys drink alot of milk and eat alot of good stuff. l found out that my 4th son could not drink milk as it was rotting his front top teeth away. The boys dentist told me that they put alot of sugar into milk now and it can be bad for some children.

Now l am no professional in this topic, but l have seen the result of what it has done to my childs teeth and now knowing to give him more water than milk just to try and keep him healthy.

hmmm
Im a little unsure of this so ill mark nutural. My kids have milk. I dont see how it will rot your teeth more than anything else... Bottles rot teeth. So does not brushing them. My kids dont drink it in excess. 1 glass a day from a glass not bottle. They brush their teeth 2 times a day and we have had no problems.

you r right bubba!!!!
Just had a look @ my good old fashioned trusty milk container, they have labels that have information on them about what REALLY is in that product your consuming. My good old trusty milk say's & the brand is cole's you'll love it 3 liters my milk contains 12.0 grams of good old fashioned sugar. Guess what? not all of this is natual!!! Surprise surprise. Yes Grass does contain sugar, but it only affect about 3 of those 12.0 grams inside the milk the rest , like i proclaimed below, is added to the milk to give it flavor, and because these sassy cows now days eat lollies. We are in a drought you know! Some more facts for you decerning readers a 3 liter bottle of Cole's You'll love it pasterized milk contains an average these level do fall of 308 grams of calcium which means you are only getting an average of 39% of you rdi (regular dietry intake) of calcium from this, milk the one we drink also contain sodium, which when processed & put on the dinner table is called salt, table salt. Also no good for babys (AT ALL) Whats this your giving your child low fat milk? Which brand? Rev & Physical are both great FOR ADULTS! When you remove the fat from milk, the levels of potasium which are also NO GOOD for children under 7 years rise, subsiquently burning your childs brain slowly. Resulting in retardation and behaviour problems in a child. this is why they make formula for all different age groups, lactose intollerent, they have formula for that allergies? have you seen that there is now a soy formula. There is no reson on earth why your child (NOT BUBBA&^"S) Shouldn't be on formula or breast milk it is 4000 times healthier than our milk, you are doing your child HARM not giving them this. Dont trust my facts ASK ANY HEALTH NURSE IN AUSTRALIA. Health nurses are going out of there minds trying to explain this to people. Your on the net now, why not look it up. She is right.  GREAT WORK BUBBA76

milk good or bad

hi! from experience with my kids milk has been very important to them since i could never breast feed my kids as they would not latch and when they did theere wasent enought milk for them but with my oldest he could not have powder milk and so so he went straight onto cows milk from 1 mths old of age.my second son started at 5 mths my daughter at 3 mths and my lastest started at 7 mths drinking cows milk.i do believe they do make your bones stronger but not your teeth my daughters teeth are very easily broken while the boys are stronger i think it depends on the child .but this thing about doctors saying that milk at an early age is not good i dont believe that because in the old days there was no such thing as powder milk son what do you think mums used to use when they could not breast feed? cows milk afcourse staright from the cow.

i think milk is good as long as its in moderation.

Hmmm

Milk is really good for the bones... Hmmm they say never let your kids go to sleep with the bottle because of tooth decay, so I give my son his bottle then brush his teeth. (If he'll let me).... But also did your dentisit suggest that your son  might have soft teeth?  My step daughter has so called soft teeth and they chip and rot easy.. Of course it does not help that she likes lollies (candy) mummy lets her have a lot....

if you are really worried you could ask about calcum tablets for kids (if they have them) or just give him lots of cheese...

hmmm...I don't know...I have heard from pediatric dentists that if the child often falls asleep with the bottle in the mouth then there may be issues with the teeth. drinking milk at meals at the table and leaving it thereafter, it shouldn't do such harm.

sugars in everything
there are sugars in formula, and breastmilk.. those are natural sugars. so why wouldn't there be any in cows milk? sugar is in everything now a days, you just have to make sure how much your child eats/drinks on a daily basis!

sugars in everything
There is, & apparently because of the drought, the farmers have been getting stale lollies for the cows past used by for the cows So there must be some sugar for flavor in milk because sugar isn't added to grass & it isn't natural for cows to eat. lodgically.
