Zip that wont stay up?

pitomoosey by pitomoosey Speaking(September 2006) (rank 500+)
My brother passed this on to me yesterday! He was frustrated with a new pain of jeans that he loved but the fly refused to stay up. He sewed (or got mum to) the fly up three quarters of the way. The remaining piece not sewn up has enough give to
loosen the jeans and no-one can tell that the zipper is not sewn up completly, (providing you are not wearing a middrift t-shirt!  This saves having to replace the zipper, and is very effective!

That's a good tip, I have done that with jeans before also, and it worked well.

fly wont stay up
My brothers are both in their 40's and my mum has been sewing up the their flies in their trousers since they were teenagers. It's a great thing to do.

Zipper problems
I have put an elastic through the small hole at the top of the zipper pull.  Then I attatch both ends (loops) of the elastic around the button of the pants.  Works great!

Zipper problems

I just read on another site someone suggested a metal key-ring loop (where you need to get a fingernail in the loop to get the key on). Thread the metal loop on to the hole in the zipper pull and then loop it over the top button. Easy to take off the button and won't stretch.

Or you can use bubs nappy pin and from the inside pin them I did this during my pregnancy and it worked a treat! and i never got pinned once by them as they are safety and is very hard to come undone by just movement
