Head Lice

BrendaR by BrendaR Walking(September 2006) (rank 500+)
I have the best method of getting rid of head lice and it is safe to, but it takes a bit of time. Its mineral oil but you need to get the heavy oil not light you totally soak the hair in mineral oil and wrap the childs head in saran
wrap this is where the time comes in they have to sit like that for two hours so pop in a movie. It may drip a bit so you need to put a towel around there neck after the time is up you take a lice comb through the hair with the oil in the hair this is very easy and if the child has a bad case of lice you will be suprised what you see in that comb. Once you are finished you need to wash their hair twice with shampoo to get the oil out. With my two kids i have tried many different things but this is the best it really works and is not harmful in any way. This is also great if you already treated the hair with a lice treatment and there are still signs of lice for that stuff can be harmful to the head and you can only use it twice and ten days apart. mineral oil is very safe with no harmful chemicals.

Head Lice
My mom used mineral oil or baby oil, they both seem to work well.

Head lice advice
I have never heard of that one, but will give it a go. I use vinegar. Leave it in the child's hair for half and hour then wash in usual shampoo, then comb hair. All lice gone.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree Oil works wonders too. My mother told me because she had to use it on my niece last week as she was sent home from day care with head lice.

A little reminder.. IT STINKS so beware but it works.. Trust me!!

You can find it at your local drug store/pharmacy

Head Lice
And don't forget to follow up by cleaning all clothes, bedding, hairbrushes, plush animals, hats and PJ's.

I agree

The mineral oil works so well, you can use it when you are pregnant and on the little ones without any harmful effects.  It's way cheaper than those kits too.

Saran wrap

Saran wrap is basicallyclear  plastic wrap, to wrap up food.

Is almost like baby oil, you can find it at most drug stores and pharmacies
