Improve Your Mood, productivity and Attitude in Seconds

Frontier by Frontier Young Parent(September 2006) (rank 20th)

This little excercise is from a core body strength workout I have been doing. I have found this one little activity can improve your outlook on the day in a matter of seconds.

Just suck your tummy muscles in and make yourself as tall as you can. While you

are doing this think about how strong you now feel and how tall and powerful you are. Keep your tummy sucked in while you are working around the house. Do not bend over to pick up things, just bend your knees and squat. Do this while you do the house work and you will

  • do more and put off less
  • feel better about yourself
  • improve your body and health
  • protect your back
  •  more often.

It is best to do it first thing in the morning or while you are in the shower but you can do it as soon as you find the day is getting you down and you are not functioning as best as you can. Remember to think about how you feel while you are doing this. when you feel your tummy loosening just pull it back in again and make yourself tall.

Build Your Self Esteem, Productivity and Tighten Your Tummy Muscles.

It is easy to do and costs you no downtime so there is no excuse!

Have a great day.

Sounds like great advice - here is a link to an excercise calorie calculator to keep track of the calories burned from all of that.

Sounds like good advice, the more we do for ourselves, the better we will feel.

I always mean to do this, however I forget by the end of the day.  I will make more of an effort to do it, can't be a hypocrite, I told someone else to do this when they did the laundry, and housework etc yesterday.

I do pilates and this is one of the core things that you do through out the excercise. It is great.

tu mmy exercises

As a teenager i once read that if you suck your tummy muscles in that you are excersizing them and thus helping lose weight. so i got into the habit of sucking it in all the time, now i often have to remind myself to stop it , like when i am measuring myself(see how much or little weight i have lost- 8 cm off the waist in less than a month btw.)

I always seem to feel better and more in shape when i hold it all in.

Totally Agree

Get one of those 'fit balls' instead of your desk chair too. Makes you sit up straighter, keeps your shoulders back and stops stress building up in your shoulders.
