adhd or add problems

somernight by somernight Talking(September 2006) (rank 170th)
Children diagnosed with ADD or ADHD are sometimes not as bad as DR's say however this is a problem.
20 years ago you hardly even heard of this and today its every other child.
I do believe that it does have alot to do with food
bread being one
of the worst because of the starch and sugar
kids eating lunch at school most of the time have a sandwich
so monitering that does help. also the way we speak to children with this disorder
if they are on a bit of a high of there day its time to unwind
real important to get down to there level to talk and make sure you are touching them
on the arm or head because it is very hard for anyone to not listen if someone is touching you when they talk (try it)
then just let them know ok its time to unwind a few minutes of big breaths and just chillin will help you both
and everyone will like each other again

Friends son

he apparently reacted to different foods.  As do his brothers and sisters.  Mother also does, it is genetic.

Eldest son went on school camp.  He asked to have something that was on his 'forbidden list' which meant he may go hyper.  Teacher replied:  "you take responsibility for your actions and you may have that food.  If you misbehave you get the punishment same as other children."  He had it, he behaved, now he eats what he likes and mother is starting to treat the daughter in the same way as she is old enough to control herself.  Food is responsible for increased activity in some cases, but we all have self-control and sometimes that is all it takes - but not in every situation.  Each is different.
Peace
