New guidelines for Queensland Schools are attempting to find a balance between family life and reinforcing classroom learning.
The suggested homework guidelines for different age groups are:
Prep Year - no homework
Years 1-3 up to an hour each week.
Years 4-5 up to 2-3 hours
each week
Years 6-7 tp to 3-4 hours each week.
Years 8-9 up to 5 hours each week.
Years 10-12 will vary according to the young person's learning needs and infivdual programs of learning.
