Finding new friend for you and your child.... |

Living in Canada I don’t really have that many friends here and those that I do either have children older then mine or are very busy living their own lives. So I went on a mission to find new friends for myself and my son….
Here
is what I did…
When my son was born I would stake out the local parks. I would take a walk every day at a different time and pass the local parks, and when I found people with little kiddies there that looked around the same age as mine I would stop. Then I’d go back the next day same time to see if the same person was there…
Ok sounds a little like stalking but if for someone is a little shy to strike up a conversation maybe after seeing you there a few times they might just ask you how old your child is, conversation started, and possibly a new friend found.
Also I found that at the same time every day there is a gathering of local home based Daycares that all get together at the same park, so I mingled my way into this group just by showing up at the same time every day.
In doing this I managed to find new friends for me and new friends for my son, and yes even a job part time job at a day care… It may take time you don’t have to like everyone you meet just take the time out to say hi, who knows you might just find a great friend living around the corner from you….. And a great conversation starter is always “How old is your child”. Tell me what mother does not like to talk about their child….
Also if you have a dog, you could go find a dog park. People who love dogs love to talk to other people who love dogs. And if this advice does not work for you then it is a great bit of exercise and fresh air.
