Teething

Anonymous Author (September 2006)
I found bonjela to be the best thing to be put onto my daughters gums. Yeah, it's a licorise taste, which i can't stand the smell off, but my daughter loved the taste, and when the bonjela kicked in, she was all quiet again. I do highly recommend bonjela to mothers
who have little one's who are teething.

bonjela
Bonjela is great, but can only be given evry four hours, and only to children over 4 months. this is ok for most poeple, but some kids start teething early, so be careful of that. it is actually a serious thing too- it numbs their throats too and makes it hard for them to breath- bad if they go to sleep!. having said that, it is only a mild local aneasthetic, and most of it gets sucks down the throat straight away. (i do use bonjela though) The hospital told me basically not to use it, but use panadol instead. it lasts longer, can be given to very young infants, fights a fever if there happens to be one, and gets the pain better.  panadol is al;ways my first choice now after liam had a 40 C fever!

bonjela
this is true my baby cut his fist tooth at 8 wks v early so bongela wasnt an option. frozen teethers are good or as one of the other mums suggested on here frozen fruit is good too. My health vistor suggested a parcetamol suspension such as calpol when he was really young to alleviate the pain.

Bonjela
Bonjela is essentially a teething gel. Not sure if it is only available in Aus. My girl didn't like the aniseed taste but it has helped myself, hubby and boys. They now make one for adult teeth.
