Hi, if anyone is having a problem out there with thier children and headlice I know the feeling. It creeps me out even just thinking about it. No matter what anyone says headlice is a normal and natural thing for any child to get. Headlice prefer clean heads but will
go yo dirty heads as well. The bugs aren't biased.Ha Ha . But seriously for a bit of help I found it helpful to purchase tea tree oil. (100%) proof and drop 6-8 drops in each shampoo bottle,(that's a normal sized bottle) for a larger bottle use more and shake it up really good. this will help deter the head lice from choosing your chids hair for a breeding ground. If you are unsure ask your pharmacist because that's where I got my information when we had problems. As well you can use that same oil and smear some on their neck as they go out the door and I always put it on the necklining of their jacket or sweater. I found this to work great. Hopefully it will work for you to. If your child does get headlice than take the proper steps to get rid of all the bugs and nits.IE: wash hair with head lice shampoo, afterwards comb out nits with proper nit comb,(any nits that do not come off with the comb use your fingers and nails to scrap the suckers off, then launder all bed linens or any clothes that may have been in contact, vaccum like crazy...I vaccum my beds, put stuffies that are exposed either in the dryer on a high setting for 1/2 hr. or tye them up in a garbage bag and through them in the freezer overnight( if it's winter you can also put the bag outside in the extreme cold ) saves on the hydro bill. There is also a spray that you can buy at the pharmacy to spray on items that can't be easily washed such as couches ,beds, strollers, carseats, interior of your vechicle. It's all up to you to how thoro youwant to be........But remember to keep checking your childs hair and to repeat the lice shampoo in 7 days is reccommended on the box.. If your child is younger than two go to your doc. and ask his/her advice.. I hope something in here has helped you,you can also go onto the web and search headlice and they will show you what they look like and instruct you what to do,, Hopefully you won't need this info..if you do , here's some info.. I'm glad there is a site like this where we can share with others....
