Marijuana

peachynowamum by peachynowamum Talking Back(September 2006) (rank 24th)

If no one else is game enough to talk about then I will This is a serious issue!!!

Marijuana the social drug that also has its medical ups and downs!!!

Many thousands of people smoke it (I DONT) some for medical reasons ( they get it on prescription)

and some because they just want to!!! Whilst I am not an advocate for this drug but I know this is a fact of life and your not going to be able to force someone to quit if thay don't want to and I am not condeming anyone who does. However i do have a few suggestions for u Tokers out there.

  1. get a back shed and do it in ther or anywhere awayfrom the house and kkids (just cause u smoke it doesn't mean they have too!!!)
  2. have a shower afterward brush ur teeth!!! (the stuff gets in your clothes and reaks. I know i get a little light headed wheni smell itone someone else imagine what your child must feel!!)
  3. If you do get desperate dont dreg it out in the laundry and dry it out in the kitchen ( it stinks up the whole house)
  4. and last but not least if you can Quit then do it!! ( there are a lot of places out there that can help you just need to look!!! AND ASK!!!)

I know this is a controversial issue but its a real one and I hope u read this and take it to heart your kids health is important!!!

Hypocrytical?

Either your for it or your against it.  Its a bit hypocrytical to be against Marijuana, but offer people advice on how to hide it from their kids!

Maybe directing people who are addicted to marijuana towards a place of help would have been a better alternative?

Hypocrytical?

I am not for marijuana as a social thing....

yet i offered this advice because there are those that have marijuana for medical reasons... who am I to judge those poeple...

not everyone needs to be referred to drug rehab....

in some respect its like saying a person needs to go to rehab cause they take Valium... Not everyones an addict and some need it...

Hypocrytical?
Its a difficult one I must say.  Because if you're using Marijuana for medical reasons, why would you be drying it in your kitchen?  And surely the practitioner who prescribes it would provide adequate information as to the risks of passive smoking for kids and adults, and ways in which to use it safely.  I wonder if thats correct?  I'm interested in finding out...

Hypocrytical?

i do agree with you there but there are so many poeple who still do things the wrong way... even after being given the correct info... because they are trying to save on costs and im sure for other reasons as well....

Marijuana

I do not smoke this stuff,  I can't stand it either. But I do agree it is good for medicinal reasons.

Well my mom had the option of smoking marijuana for medical reasons, as she had lung cancer. She did do it while she was in Winnipeg at the Health Science Centre. She was only 120 pounds. She started to take chemotherapy and she had to go through 6 weeks of radiation. So smoking dope was a way for her to gain weight. She was only 5 feet tall and again 120 pounds. After she was done the 6 weeks in Winnipeg she had gained about 29 pounds. So at the beginning it was so helpful and she was not hurting from the radiation as it made her really sore. After that she was done with the dope.

When she came home to continue with chemo she choose not as my brother and sister were 13 and 14 at that time, they knew of the drug already so she didn't want them to think it was an ok drug if she did it.I think in a way it helped prolong her life as she wasn't eating and the weight she gained made her look normal to us. She was on the Boost drink as she could not eat as the food burnt going done from the radiation. So it helped my mom in that sense.  In  the last couple  weeks of her life they gave her it in brownie form as she was in so much pain.

My uncle  smokes it as again for medicinal reasons also. A  gun backfired and the bullet came  out backwards and went off in his  face. He got basically shot in the eye and he still has pieces of bullets and metal fragments in his eye. So smoking maryjane helps him out lots. He gets in delivered and when it comes in at the post office, there is a policeman there to escort him there and home. He isn't allowed to drive anything. He has a permit to have  2 grams in his house per day . If he has any on him out of his/ property they will arrest him, and  will charge him for trafficing the drug. He is not allowed to have his kids there as there are now 14 and 15, and if he does have them there it has to be supervised.

well i don't smoke it and i don't like it, but your so called advice isn't all that great who are you to tell people what they should do and so on, its actually very rude and i asure you if someone wants to quit they will and you writeing what you wrote is just an insult and would never convince someone to stop or to brush there teeth and so on, so you are obviously mad at someone and expressing your frustrations here, i voted poor because this advice is not really advice at all
