quick tips for a newborn bathing

bleshu by bleshu Talking Back(October 2006) (rank 80th)

If your worried about cleaning baby's bath with chemicals try using vinegar.  My mum uses it on everything, from the bath, shower toilet, windows, even the bench tops.  You can really smell the vinegar but it smells better than the chemicals and wont hurt baby's skin.  Not sure on the measurements but I think its 2 or 3 parts water and 1part vinegar in a spray bottle.

I bought an extra change table mat to put on the bathroom floor.  I lay sebastians towel over it and undress him then put him straight into the bath, then straight back out onto it when he;s finished.  Much easier than undressing him in the bedroom then carrying him wrapped in a towel (I get pee'd on less 2) to the bathroom. Its also alot easier getting him out onto the floor than trying to juggle him into a towel over my shoulder.

I will try that
I never knew about vinegar. Thank you very much. I still have my daughter in her baby bathtub, and how i would clean it was by using soap and water. I was too afraid to use chemicals on plastic.

Bathroom Floor for me
I did the dry and  undress/ dress on my lap if I did the bathing thing by myself. If hubby helped it was on  the bathroom floor. It's amazing how much can come out of a little baby .LOL.

Yes it can also be a bit of a shock taking a baby from the warm bathroom to the colder bedroom when they are naked... :)  I'll give the vinigar thing a go.. Thanks for the tip...
