My auntie told me this one and it seems to work!!! sleep trouble!

peachynowamum by peachynowamum Talking Back(October 2006) (rank 24th)

My little one hates sleeping flat on her back she prefers her side and likes to be elevated But... we all know we shouldnt put pillows and such in the cot. So why not put a pillow or cushion under the matress that way its elevated and there is no

risk of suffocation or any thing like that!!!

oh yeah and it seems to be keeping her colic at bay (fingers crossed I hope it doesn't come back again) as the air rises and comes out easier without much fuss..

Note: make sure your child is secure in the cot as you do not want them sliding down under the blankets!

I did this too...
but I would just use a "sleeping bag" instead of blankets.

sleep trouble
this is good advice.  I've found that if we put a small folded blacket under the mattress, it elevates it enough without causing my son to slide down at all.

careful

just be careful she doesnt slide down under her blankets.  even if she lies straight when you put her in, if she lifts or bends her legs and wiggles, she could slide.  They actually make a little bed/carrier especially for colic babies using the same elevation theory except they have straps to hold them in place.
