2 low-budget ideas on how to keep the kids happy during the school holiday

Tammy13 by Tammy13 Talking(October 2006) (rank 82nd)

1)      Set up your own camping adventure in your back yard:

Set up a tent in your back yard, put food in the cool-box – and “play” camping all day long – including making the food outside on the BBQ and eating while sitting

on the grass!

And if it’s not that cold at night – kids and parents can even sleep in the tent!

2)      Have your own golf course:

Don’t mow the whole lawn.

Cut just a long lane (that will be the fairway), and at the end of it cut a big circle (that will be the green), put a stick in the middle of the circle (that’s the flag – the kids can also make this flag) – and there you have it! Your own miniature golf course!

Both ideas require minimum budget if any!

Enjoy the school vacation!

How cool..
What awesome ideas! I just asked hubby if we can do the golf one  in the chrissy holidays (as he mows the lawn) hee thought it was cool too but we just realised we have no golf clubs lol....oh well we may just hit it down with a cricket bat heehee
My son has had camping sleepovers but i like the idea of all of us doing it together with the BBQ ..
**Thanx for the ideas**

The best things are often free
Great ideas, we are planning to have a camping birthday this year for our 7yolds birthday in the back yard.
We also mow the middle of the back yard shorter to make a cricket pitch and ( without approvale from my darling wife) use talcum powder to make the lines on the grass for football and volleyball.

Have your own golf course...
, My parents have put a mini putt in the front part of their property... They can' t hit the balls to far though the cows might eat them... Hence the reason it is mini...  Of course they chose to do this when their kids have all grown up and moved away....
