Family Tree

peachynowamum by peachynowamum Talking(October 2006) (rank 197th)

It is my belief as I am sure it is yours that family is important. We learn a lot when we look at our family and our history so I have decided to do a family tree listing all the family members as far back as I can for my daughter. i am also writing in as much information as possible like when they were born when they died and what they did for a living ect. that way she can learn more about her background. I think that kids these days don't know enough about their family and therefore do not appreciate it as much as they should.

So therefore my suggestion is why don't you put together a family tree to and you never know maybe you will learn something to. I know I have!

The sight I have been using is http://www.ancestry.com/

Addiction
I have become very addicted to researching mine ... however my husbands is somewhat confusing as his ancestors emerged from Germany and Poland.

Family Tree

I did one last year, helping my brother. It is so interesting to do. So far I know that my great grandma was born in 1900, so that was pretty cool to know.  I just hope I can keep researching it on both sides

Family trees
My mum and dad did a family tree, it was amazing to look at, we found out things that even mum and dad never knew, we even had a few famous relatives.  Well worth doing

Include Traditions!!!
We've been working hard to incorporate more traditions into our lives for this very reason - ones with meaning. I did a little research on different German traditions (you could do the same with whatever background you have) and then started incorporating them where I could; into holidays, back-to-school, etc. And, we plan to start learning the language this coming year as a family for enrichment and fun! Great advice!

Include Traditions!!!

If you are intersted in creating traditions, let me know.  The company that I sell products for is about  how to develop, preserve, and implement traditions.

We have a family tree poster that you can buy.

Thanks!
