hair problems

libbylincoln by libbylincoln Talking Back(October 2006) (rank 69th)

My 16-month-old daughter won't let me put clips in her hair.  Her hair is quite curly and starting to get long in the front.  It's not quite long enough to cut yet, but is starting to get in her eyes.  Does anyone have any tips for getting her

used to having clips in her hair?

most kids that age wont let you touch their hair some like it lose and messy.brush her hair for as much as she lets you istead of clips maybe use hair ties and once its done make a big fuss how gorgeous she looks and take her somewhere to make her forget she has it in her hair so she dont try to pull it out ,even if its in the fridge to get her a drink or a treat.

once way to cut their hair do it while they are asleep.i have been cutting my sons hair since he was 1 year old i wait till he falls asleep and just cut the sides so it dont go in their ears and the fringe so it stays off their eyes.

dont be to fussed over teir hair my daughter she is 5 she used to hate me doing her hair and she still only lets me put her hair up in a plat no other style iam not to fused right now as she is at least used to me brushing it (specially since she has ectremely long hair)

my son he is 19 mth old and he too hates to have his hari done .

I let my daughter pick any clips for herself, let her see how they match her outfits and make her look grown up.Maybe friends or family buy her nice hair things as prezzies ,how special she will think they are....hope this helps

Commenting in Q+A
Confused, was this a reply in Q+A? Write advice is more for if you have an experience and advice to share with all parents not just in the discussion area in Q+A

maybe try to distract her, or buy the clips with butterflies etc on it. That's how i got my daughter to wear clips.
